The Cloutles are one of the largest creatures ever recorded, with infants towering over mountains in remote parts of the world. Preferring a landscape absent of the light pollution created below, they rely on clouds that form around them to be dense enough to catch wind currents. Growing even larger as adults, if they drift over dryer parts of the world, their clouds can decrease, and they can fall to earth. When a Cloutle becomes beached on the surface, it can enrich entire ecosystems for months from the food source it becomes.
