A subspecies of Garths that exist on gas giant planets that fly down to the surface from the clouds. Once at the surface they hug and squeeze other creatures below, often to death. Although they never been observed eating, it is speculated they are gaining their energy off the creatures they are hugging, extracting an unknown chemical from them.
